Ethereum on ARM. New Eth2.0 Raspberry Pi 4 image for joining the Medalla multi-client testnet. Step-by-step guide for installing and activating a validator (Prysm, Teku, Lighthouse and Nimbus clients included)

TL;DR: Flash your Raspberry Pi 4, plug in an ethernet cable, connect the SSD disk and power up the device to join the Eth2.0 medalla testnet.
The image takes care of all the necessary steps to join the Eth2.0 Medalla multi-client testnet [1], from setting up the environment and formatting the SSD disk to installing, managing and running the Eth1.0 and Eth2.0 clients.
You will only need to choose an Eth2.0 client, start the beacon chain service and activate / run the validator.
Note: this is an update for our previous Raspberry Pi 4 Eth2 image [2] so some of the instructions are directly taken from there.

MAIN FEATURES

SOFTWARE INCLUDED

INSTALLATION GUIDE AND USAGE

RECOMMENDED HARDWARE AND SETUP
STORAGE
You will need an SSD to run the Ethereum clients (without an SSD drive there’s absolutely no chance of syncing the Ethereum blockchain). There are 2 options:
Use an USB portable SSD disk such as the Samsung T5 Portable SSD.
Use an USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Case with a SSD Disk. In our case we used a Inateck 2.5 Hard Drive Enclosure FE2011. Make sure to buy a case with an UASP compliant chip, particularly, one of these: JMicron (JMS567 or JMS578) or ASMedia (ASM1153E).
In both cases, avoid getting low quality SSD disks as it is a key component of your node and it can drastically affect the performance (and sync times). Keep in mind that you need to plug the disk to an USB 3.0 port (in blue).
IMAGE DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION
1.- Download the image:
http://www.ethraspbian.com/downloads/ubuntu-20.04.1-preinstalled-server-arm64+raspi-eth2-medalla.img.zip
SHA256 149cb9b020d1c49fcf75c00449c74c6f38364df1700534b5e87f970080597d87
2.- Flash the image
Insert the microSD in your Desktop / Laptop and download the file.
Note: If you are not comfortable with command line or if you are running Windows, you can use Etcher [10]
Open a terminal and check your MicroSD device name running:
sudo fdisk -l
You should see a device named mmcblk0 or sdd. Unzip and flash the image:
unzip ubuntu-20.04.1-preinstalled-server-arm64+raspi-eth2-medalla.img.zip
sudo dd bs=1M if=ubuntu-20.04.1-preinstalled-server-arm64+raspi.img of=/dev/mmcblk0 conv=fdatasync status=progress
3.- Insert de MicroSD into the Raspberry Pi 4. Connect an Ethernet cable and attach the USB SSD disk (make sure you are using a blue port).
4.- Power on the device
The Ubuntu OS will boot up in less than one minute but you will need to wait approximately 7-8 minutes in order to allow the script to perform the necessary tasks to install the Medalla setup (it will reboot again)
5.- Log in
You can log in through SSH or using the console (if you have a monitor and keyboard attached)
User: ethereum Password: ethereum
You will be prompted to change the password on first login, so you will need to log in twice.
6.- Forward 30303 port in your router (both UDP and TCP). If you don’t know how to do this, google “port forwarding” followed by your router model. You will need to open additional ports as well depending on the Eth2.0 client you’ve chosen.
7.- Getting console output
You can see what’s happening in the background by typing:
sudo tail -f /valog/syslog
8.- Grafana Dashboards
There are 5 Grafana dashboards available to monitor the Medalla node (see section “Grafana Dashboards” below).

The Medalla Eth2.0 multi-client testnet

Medalla is the official Eth2.0 multi-client testnet according to the latest official specification for Eth2.0, the v0.12.2 [11] release (which is aimed to be the final) [12].
In order to run a Medalla Eth 2.0 node you will need 3 components:
The image takes care of the Eth1.0 setup. So, once flashed (and after a first reboot), Geth (Eth1.0 client) starts to sync the Goerli testnet.
Follow these steps to enable your Eth2.0 Ethereum node:
CREATE THE VALIDATOR KEYS AND MAKE THE DEPOSIT
We need to get 32 Goerli ETH (fake ETH) ir order to make the deposit in the Eth2.0 contract and run the validator. The easiest way of getting ETH is by joining Prysm Discord's channel.
Open Metamask [14], select the Goerli Network (top of the window) and copy your ETH Address. Go to:
https://discord.com/invite/YMVYzv6
And open the “request-goerli-eth” channel (on the left)
Type:
!send $YOUR_ETH_ADDRESS (replace it with the one copied on Metamask)
You will receive enough ETH to run 1 validator.
Now it is time to create your validator keys and the deposit information. For your convenience we’ve packaged the official Eth2 launchpad tool [4]. Go to the EF Eth2.0 launchpad site:
https://medalla.launchpad.ethereum.org/
And click “Get started”
Read and accept all warnings. In the next screen, select 1 validator and go to your Raspberry Pi console. Under the ethereum account run:
cd && deposit --num_validators 1 --chain medalla
Choose your mnemonic language and type a password for keeping your keys safe. Write down your mnemonic password, press any key and type it again as requested.
Now you have 2 Json files under the validator_keys directory. A deposit data file for sending the 32 ETH along with your validator public key to the Eth1 chain (goerli testnet) and a keystore file with your validator keys.
Back to the Launchpad website, check "I am keeping my keys safe and have written down my mnemonic phrase" and click "Continue".
It is time to send the 32 ETH deposit to the Eth1 chain. You need the deposit file (located in your Raspberry Pi). You can, either copy and paste the file content and save it as a new file in your desktop or copy the file from the Raspberry to your desktop through SSH.
1.- Copy and paste: Connected through SSH to your Raspberry Pi, type:
cat validator_keys/deposit_data-$FILE-ID.json (replace $FILE-ID with yours)
Copy the content (the text in square brackets), go back to your desktop, paste it into your favourite editor and save it as a json file.
Or
2.- Ssh: From your desktop, copy the file:
scp [email protected]$YOUR_RASPBERRYPI_IP:/home/ethereum/validator_keys/deposit_data-$FILE_ID.json /tmp
Replace the variables with your data. This will copy the file to your desktop /tmp directory.
Upload the deposit file
Now, back to the Launchpad website, upload the deposit_data file and select Metamask, click continue and check all warnings. Continue and click “Initiate the Transaction”. Confirm the transaction in Metamask and wait for the confirmation (a notification will pop up shortly).
The Beacon Chain (which is connected to the Eth1 chain) will detect this deposit (that includes the validator public key) and the Validator will be enabled.
Congrats!, you just started your validator activation process.
CHOOSE AN ETH2.0 CLIENT
Time to choose your Eth2.0 client. We encourage you to run Lighthouse, Teku or Nimbus as Prysm is the most used client by far and diversity is key to achieve a resilient and healthy Eth2.0 network.
Once you have decided which client to run (as said, try to run one with low network usage), you need to set up the clients and start both, the beacon chain and the validator.
These are the instructions for enabling each client (Remember, choose just one Eth2.0 client out of 4):
LIGHTHOUSE ETH2.0 CLIENT
1.- Port forwarding
You need to open the 9000 port in your router (both UDP and TCP)
2.- Start the beacon chain
Under the ethereum account, run:
sudo systemctl enable lighthouse-beacon
sudo systemctl start lighthouse-beacon
3.- Start de validator
We need to import the validator keys. Run under the ethereum account:
lighthouse account validator import --directory=/home/ethereum/validator_keys
Then, type your previously defined password and run:
sudo systemctl enable lighthouse-validator
sudo systemctl start lighthouse-validator
The Lighthouse beacon chain and validator are now enabled

PRYSM ETH2.0 CLIENT
1.- Port forwarding
You need to open the 13000 and 12000 ports in your router (both UDP and TCP)
2.- Start the beacon chain
Under the ethereum account, run:
sudo systemctl enable prysm-beacon
sudo systemctl start prysm-beacon
3.- Start de validator
We need to import the validator keys. Run under the ethereum account:
validator accounts-v2 import --keys-dir=/home/ethereum/validator_keys
Accept the default wallet path and enter a password for your wallet. Now enter the password previously defined.
Lastly, set up your password and start the client:
echo "$YOUR_PASSWORD" > /home/ethereum/validator_keys/prysm-password.txt
sudo systemctl enable prysm-validator
sudo systemctl start prysm-validator
The Prysm beacon chain and the validator are now enabled.

TEKU ETH2.0 CLIENT
1.- Port forwarding
You need to open the 9151 port (both UDP and TCP)
2.- Start the Beacon Chain and the Validator
Under the Ethereum account, check the name of your keystore file:
ls /home/ethereum/validator_keys/keystore*
Set the keystore file name in the teku config file (replace the $KEYSTORE_FILE variable with the file listed above)
sudo sed -i 's/changeme/$KEYSTORE_FILE/' /etc/ethereum/teku.conf
Set the password previously entered:
echo "yourpassword" > validator_keys/teku-password.txt
Start the beacon chain and the validator:
sudo systemctl enable teku
sudo systemctl start teku
The Teku beacon chain and validator are now enabled.

NIMBUS ETH2.0 CLIENT
1.- Port forwarding
You need to open the 19000 port (both UDP and TCP)
2.- Start the Beacon Chain and the Validator
We need to import the validator keys. Run under the ethereum account:
beacon_node deposits import /home/ethereum/validator_keys --data-dir=/home/ethereum/.nimbus --log-file=/home/ethereum/.nimbus/nimbus.log
Enter the password previously defined and run:
sudo systemctl enable nimbus
sudo systemctl start nimbus
The Nimbus beacon chain and validator are now enabled.

WHAT's NEXT
Now you need to wait for the Eth1 blockchain and the beacon chain to get synced. In a few hours the validator will get enabled and put into a queue. These are the validator status that you will see until its final activation:
Finally, it will get activated and the staking process will start.
Congratulations!, you join the Medalla Eth2.0 multiclient testnet!

Grafana Dashboards

We configured 5 Grafana Dashboards to let users monitor both Eth1.0 and Eth2.0 clients. To access the dashboards just open your browser and type your Raspberry IP followed by the 3000 port:
http://replace_with_your_IP:3000 user: admin passwd: ethereum
There are 5 dashboards available:
Lots of info here. You can see for example if Geth is in sync by checking (in the Blockchain section) if Headers, Receipts and Blocks fields are aligned or find Eth2.0 chain info.

Updating the software

We will be keeping the Eth2.0 clients updated through Debian packages in order to keep up with the testnet progress. Basically, you need to update the repo and install the packages through the apt command. For instance, in order to update all packages you would run:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install geth teku nimbus prysm-beacon prysm-validator lighthouse-beacon lighthouse-validator
Please follow us on Twitter in order to get regular updates and install instructions.

Download entire ftp folder with folder structure intact?

Hi,
I am looking to download an entire cpanel ftp site with folder structure intact. The script below will be scheduled to run every few days.
I used script-analyzer to ensure the syntax are right. I am yet to test this AS i do not think it will do exactly what I am looking to accomplish.
Preferably, I'd like to zip up the entire 'backupPath' each time. Can the experts please suggest any potential errors I might encounter?

TIA
$Time = Get-date -Format 'MM-dd-yyyy-hh-mm-ss' $FoldernameName = "cpanelBackup-$Time" # Specify directories #$localPath = "C:\backup" #remote cpanel directory $remotePath = "/home/companyname/public_html" #backup path $backuppath = "C:\sitebackups\$FoldernameName" $mask = "*.*" # Load WinSCP .NET assembly Add-Type -Path "C:\Program Files (x86)\WinSCP\WinSCPnet.dll" try { # Setup session options $sessionOptions = New-Object WinSCP.SessionOptions -Property @{ Protocol = [WinSCP.Protocol]::sftp HostName = "****host.company.com****" UserName = "***username***" Password = "***password****" SshHostkeyFingerprint = "******sanitized***" } $session = New-Object WinSCP.Session try { # Connect Write-Output "Connecting to sFTP..." $session.Open($sessionOptions) # Download files $transferOptions = New-Object WinSCP.TransferOptions $transferOptions.TransferMode = [WinSCP.TransferMode]::Binary $files = $session.EnumerateRemoteFiles($remotePath, $mask, [WinSCP.EnumerationOptions]::AllDirectories) foreach ($fileInfo in $files) { Write-Output "Downloading $($fileInfo.FullName) ..." $filePath = [WinSCP.RemotePath]::EscapeFileMask($fileInfo.FullName) $session.GetFiles($filePath, $backuppath + "\*").Check() } } finally { # Disconnect, clean up $session.Dispose() } exit 0 } catch { Write-Output "Error: $($_.Exception.Message)" exit 1 }

[Tutorial] Run Checkra1n on any OpenWRT & Checkra1n compatible router (not just Linksys)

*Don't try this on a main router because you could permanently brick the router. Read through this entire post before starting and only attempt this if you're familiar with Terminal and you know what you're doing.\*
If you saw this post but don't have a Linksys router, you might still be in luck.

Requirements

Procedure

  1. Search for your router on the OpenWRT website and open the page for your router. On the page, look for the "Installation" heading, and download the "Firmware OpenWRT Install" for your router model.
  2. Download the appropriate Checkra1n binary from the Checkra1n website.
  3. Connect your computer to your router via ethernet and power on the router. You need the router's IP address, if you don't know what it is, do the following. Visit that IP address in your browser, and if a web login is available, then you're good so far.
  4. Log in with your router username and password (if you've never changed the credentials, Google the default ones). After logging in, unplug any other cables from the router besides power and the ethernet cable connected to your computer. Look for a way to upload a custom firmware file, and upload the file you downloaded from OpenWRT. Upgrade to that firmware.
  5. Once that's done, visiting the router's IP (which is now 192.168.1.1) will take you to the OpenWRT login page. Log in with the username "root" and leave the password field blank.
    1. (Optional) If you would like, you can perform a software reset from within OpenWRT's webpage to prevent filesystem corruption. After you do that, log back into the router.
  6. Change the router's password. This is required for SSH access.
    1. (Optional) Enable wireless connections on your router from Network > Wireless. If you need help, check out this. If you do this, you won't need the Ethernet cable anymore.
  7. SSH into the router. (If you're on Windows, enable SSH connect). In CMD/Terminal, type ssh [email protected] When it asks for the password, use the router password.
  8. Look for any directories with at least 20MB free space. You can do this by typing the command df. The free directory will most likely be the /tmp Directory. (Please note that the /tmp directory is cleared every time the router turns on...) Once you find a directory, Type exit to close the SSH connection.
  9. You should be back on CMD/Terminal. Then, type this command to transfer the Checkra1n file to the router: scp PATH/TO/CHECKRA1N/FILE [email protected]:PATH/TO/FREE/DIRECTORY
  10. You're almost done, we need to adjust permissions now. SSH into the router again and type these commands: cd PATH/TO/FREE/DIRECTORY, chmod 777 checkra1n
  11. Connect your iDevice via USB Port, and put it in iTunes Recovery Mode. Then type ./checkra1n -c -v
  12. Put the device into DFU Mode, and hopefully it boots jailbroken (if you see errors then press CTRL+C to stop checkra1n, and type ./checkra1n -c -v again since reliability is bad)
If you do use the /tmp directory, repeat steps 9-12 every time you power on your router

Power Shell FTP Assistance

I'm currently scratching my head, hoping to find an answer from one of you lovely people.
I'm currently using Power shell to open an FTP session via WinSCP:
Add-Type -Path "C:\Program Files (x86)\WinSCP\WinSCPnet.dll"
$sessionOptions = New-Object WinSCP.SessionOptions -Property @{
Protocol = [WinSCP.Protocol]::SFTP
HostName = ""
UserName = ""
Password = ""
SSHHostKeyFingerprint = ""
}
$session = New-Object WinSCP.Session
$filelist = Get-ChildItem -Path "E:\Path to Files"
$localpath = $filelist
$remotepath = "/"
$session.Open($sessionOptions)
$transferOptions = New-Object WinSCP.transferOptions
$transferOptions.TransferMode = [WinSCP.TransferMode]::Binary
I utilize this in multiple other scripts, and those seem to work fine (I.e. they point to the right directory, find the files I want, and FTP them)
However, in this specific script, for some reason, it appears to be looking for the files in "C:\Program Files (x86)\WinSCP\"
When testing the output, the correct file name is grabbed from the script (in the target directory) however, instead of E:\file1 has been successfully transferred!" I'm actually getting C:\Program Files (x86)\WinSCP\file1 has been successfully transferred!"
Except... file 1 is never actually transferred to the FTP site, I've confirmed this multiple times.
What could be causing the script to be seemingly looking in the wrong target directory? I'm quite confused. Any help would be appreciated, and would make my day go much faster! :)

Issues with FTP

I've recently softmodded my xbox and have swapped the HDD out to a 1tb. I'm in the process of transferring some games over but certain games timeout and won't transfer. For example Starwars Battlefront 1 transferred but 2 won't. The error message I get is always a timeout message.

Running the latest UnleashX dashboard
I've set the IP to static.
Limit of 1 connection to the FTP server (had the same issue when this was at 10)
My FTP client (WinSCP) is doing binary transfer
I've connected the Xbox to my home network and am transferring from a PC on the same network.

Aside from buring the games to disc, are there any other options to transfer games to the xbox? or is something wrong in my settings?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[WOTC/TLE] Infinite Load After Missions

[EDIT] UPDATE: I think I've figured something out. I tried reloading the mission with a different squad and we got back to the avenger no problem. The key difference is I had no faction hero units in the squad. That makes a lot of sense actually, "New Promotion Screen" is interacting strangely with faction heroes for me, who already get the new promotion screen, which is confusing the game. It also makes sense why I've have problems with gatecrasher and this mod in the past since because it always gives you a faction hero. Either it's straight up broken for faction heroes or it's interacting weirdly with Mitzruti's faction hero classes (Templar Dragon, Reaper Scion, etc.)
Anyone know if there's any way to get into contact with either Mitzruti or Tzarnal - MoonWolf about the mods and see if they know of/can patch a fix?
TL;DR: My game goes into an infinite load after completing missions in a way similar to previous issues I’ve had with New Promotion Screen by Default, but now it happens whether or not it’s on. Anyone have a similar experience or have any ideas how one might fix it? I’ve tried deleting my config folder and verifying game cache to no avail. Thoughts?
Hello kind and wonderful people. It’s me again! After enjoying my new heavily modded XCOM 2 WOTC campaign for a few weeks, I’ve run into a new issue that is rather poetically the opposite of the issue I had last time. When I finish combat and load back to the avenger, I get caught in an infinite loading loop and the game softlocks. I was wondering if anybody may have had a similar issue before, and if so whether and how they were able to resolve it?
The Issue: I'm using the Alternate Mod Launcher loading between 200-300 mods (yes, I have a problem) depending on the attempt. I am able to load into the game and play normally (I can watch cutscenes, use all features of the avenger, go into the world map, load into missions, and complete them,) but when I finish a mission and load back to the avenger I run into a gamebreaking issue. When I finish a mission on of two things happen:
Option 1: The game goes into a loading screen with the victory music playing and the XCOM logo spinning in the bottom right corner. The logo spins, then freezes for a second, and then starts spinning again. After this a voice line plays, either the speaker or the ADVENT newscaster, and then the avenger loads normally.
Option 2: The game does all the previous but doesn’t load the voice line. Instead the logo spins forever, sometimes crashing to desktop, sometimes stuck in an infinite load. When it CTD’s, here are the last few lines of the crash log for reference.

My Theory: I’ve had similar issues before with New Promotion Screen by Default in similar saves but now that some of the mods I use are dependent on it, I can’t get around not using it. I’m pretty sure it’s either this mod or another mod that interacts with the after-action report screen or cutscenes, but I’m not sure what it could be. [WOTC/TLE] Infinite Load After Missions

UPDATE 2: SOLVED! (I think) So, as it turns out I think I've been blaming the wrong mods for the issue. I hit the infinite load again in another mission and it behaved the same way. I tried disabling Combat knives, Stealth overhaul, Unrestricted Customization, and Eclipsezr's map pack (and temporarily my Robbie Rotten voice because it was throwing minor errors so you can never be too safe. Yes I'm a scrub,) and the game loaded no problem! I haven't tried loading without those mods with a custom faction class yet but that's next on the list. I'm going to re-enable Robbie, Knives, and Stealth because the former is hilarious and the latter are dependencies for other mods. If I have any more updates and information I'll post them right here!
UPDATE 1: I think I've figured something out.

The current mission of the game is stuck in a situation where it always goes into the infinite load/sometimes crashes cycle.

How to Become Oracle apps DBA?

Who is Oracle Apps DBA?

Oracle E-Business suite or oracle ERP is a vital part of the business and corporates. It’s a packaged application to manage finance, accounting, General Ledger (GL), Human Resource (HR), Sales, Marketing and many more business functional modules. Oracle Apps DBA who manages whole oracle e-business suite infrastructure, backend oracle database. Apps DBA applies patches and makes business suite application binary up to date and bug-free. If the business needs any third-party application functionality which is not available in oracle ERP. Oracle Apps DBA integrates that function with an ERP system.

Oracle Apps DBA Concept Building

The first step would be to start reading concepts document from oracle E-business Document Library. This will help you to understand the technical architecture of the business suite. Make yourself familiar with tiers like applications and databases. Give at least 1 to 2 week’s time and read the document. I know you will be blank some times and confused with new complex words & jargon but keep reading it don’t stop your reading. Rome was not built in a day. Any new learning takes time. No one has a magic wand like Harry Potter. Give some time to yourself.
This Concept Document is key to your success.
And also don’t worry about version start with any 12.x.x version later any time you can upgrade your knowledge for advance version. Basics are the same for all the versions from 11i to R12.

How to Become Apps DBA?

I am not going to tell you directly to start with oracle apps dba topics. Let’s start with some operating system, network, and virtualization basics.
  1. Linux: Start making yourself comfortable with black and CLI screen which means learn Linux. I would recommend you to start with RHEL or CentOS. Learn all the basic commands about the file, directory structure, filer editors like vi, vim and nano. File copy, file move, and file remote copy scp, rsync , gpg/pgp, nfs, iSCSI, ssh , SFTP, and telnet.
  2. Virtualization: Make yourself familiar with Virtualization tools like Oracle VirtualBox or VMware workstation.
  3. Network: Read about IPs and subnets. Load balancers, SSL connections.

Make Your Oracle Apps DBA PlayGround or Test Setup

Step#1 Install Linux on Oracle VirtualBox or on Vmware.
NoteBefore choosing any Linux flavor like RHEL, Centos or Suse. Read the Oracle E-business Installation prerequisites documentation carefully. If you do the proper installation planning there are chances that you will see fewer issues.
Step#2 Install Linux as per the oracle documentation prerequisite. Go with single node installation first once you are familiar with it you can install multiple nodes or can convert you single node to multiple node step.
Step#2 Install Oracle E-business suite. Take any popular version like 12.1.3 or 12.2.X. You can download the installable from Oracle Software Delivery Cloud.
Step#3 I personally believe if you have installed the oracle e-business suite once you are 40% oracle apps dba because it has many long and complex steps. It may fail multiple times but don’t worry all the fixes are available on google university 📷

Oracle APPS DBA Topics that you should Understand, Learn and Practice

Example Multi-Node setup
2 x Application Node
1 x Batch or Concurrent Program Node
1 x Database Node or 3 node RAC setup

SCP-4341, "Unimal Life"

Item #: SCP-4341
Object Class: Keter
Author: 9volt

Hello SCPDeclassified, Brewsterion here. Today, I wanted to declassify SCP-4341, by 9volt. No intro this time, let's just get right into it.
Special Containment Procedures
No Foundation personnel belonging to the biological kingdom Animalia are to enter the town of Grantsfield.
Getting weird right away, it seems. Anything that isn't a bacteria, plant, or fungi is to be kept out of the town of Grantsfield. Whatever this thing is, it only affects one type of biology.
A Class-III Biohazard Quarantine Unit (Unit Alpha) has been erected around the town as to completely isolate it and any non-animal waste matter within from entering the surrounding environment. Provisional Site-4341 has been constructed around the unit and is adjoined to it.
This thing covers the entire town, so they slammed a quarantine unit around the entire town and threw up a site near it to make sure the thing stays intact. A quarantine unit means it's either contagious or spreads in some other way, and if they need an entire extra site to make sure it stays quarantined, it must be highly dangerous. It is Keter, after all.
SCP-4341-A instances that approach the interior perimeter of Unit Alpha will be terminated by AI-operated turrets, using bullets containing HCl capsules that burst on impact.
The -A component seems to be animate, and either intentionally or unintentionally dangerous if they're terminating them on site. The article says if they're approaching the perimeter, so we can probably assume they're being terminated to prevent them from possibly escaping.
Audiovisual monitoring equipment has been established by Remote Control Vehicles (RCVs) in all areas of Grantsfield except for the town center.
Recon drones are set up around the entire town except the center. We can probably assume that the focal point of this anomaly is in the town center, since there's no drones there.
Cover stories regarding the evacuation and closure of Grantsfield due to an industrial chemical spill have been disseminated. Roads leading to the town have been diverted, and map information on the town's existence has been removed. Further cover stories attributing the replacement of the town's former population to death from hazardous chemicals, suicide, and various disappearances have also been disseminated.
This town has been wiped off of maps, literally, and every cover story under the sun sent out to explain why it doesn't exist anymore. All of these stories involve something that would render the town uninhabitable, but the fact they mention replacement of the town's population seems to indicate that there is something else at work here affecting residents after they leave the town.
Researchers assigned to SCP-4341 will undergo a psychological examination before being sent to Provisional Site-4341, which will be followed by monthly examinations of the same nature. The results of these will be compared to the baseline psychological profile established in the first examination, with any severe deviations resulting in removal from Research Team 4341 and subsequent amnesticization.
Anybody sent there gets a psychological exam before they go, and it gets redone monthly. If they deviate from the first test enough, they're booted from the team and site and amnesticized. Odds are there's either something highly traumatic here or something memetic, but either option is not good.
If an inability to properly identify animal life is recorded in the examinations, on-site security are to subdue the researcher in question and transfer them to an V-Model Habitational Infoquarantine Chamber for a period of one month. Information on animal life and exercises in which the goal is to properly identify animal and non-animal life will be provided in this time, after which they will be removed from Research Team 4341 and be amnesticized. Covert monitoring will be performed until it can be ascertained that the researcher is following normal behaviors.
We're mentioning animals again, but this time in a different context. If anybody loses their ability to identify animals, they're moved to an infoquaratine chamber for a month, during which time they'll be reeducated-in a good way-about what animals are and how to identify them, at which point they're kicked from the team and the amnestics remove their memories of the team. Infoquarantine chamber implies that there's an infohazard here, relating to the animal life within Grantsfield.
Personnel are to be reminded on a daily basis that no animal life exists within Grantsfield.
Or the lack of animal life, it seems. We're on track to be dealing with an anomaly with multiple parts that has some sort of possible infohazard or memetic hazard that influences and reduces your ability to identify what's an animal and what's not. Let's move into the description.
Description
SCP-4341 is the absence of animal life in the town of Grantsfield, Kansas, US. Following initial reports of anomalous activity, no organisms belonging to the kingdom Animalia, including humans, have been observed to exist within the town borders. Animal life that enters Grantsfield is replaced by SCP-4341-A instances. SCP-4341-A instances are not animals.
So 4341 is the collective term for the absence of specifically animal life within Grantsfield, Kansas, a town that is not Indiana like a lot of towns on the wiki for some reason. Technically, no animals exist in Grantsfield, and all life in it is a 4341-A instance, which are not animals. This is beginning to resemble Inside, in that the terminology is sounding conceptual, not just biological. 4341-A instances are very similar to animals, however they are biologically not animals. It might walk like a duck, and talk like a duck, but it's actually a mound of mold, fungi, and plants that tries to be a duck. Although it's not stated, we can probably assume that there's a memetic effect produced by this anomaly that removes your ability to tell what's an animal and what's actually a -A, and it spreads like an infohazard.
Addendum 1: Research Log 4341/1
In a test of the capabilities of 4341, the Foundation sends in a few things. To start, they send in four rats. Upon entering Grantsfield, they are all turned into 4341-A instances. Two of them immediately experience bodily collapse, while the other two make a break for the perimeter and are killed by turrets. This establishes that any animal life entering Granstfield is turned into non-animal life.
Next up, they send in a D-class. It's turned into a -A, and tries to move towards the town center before it's limbs turn into phylae, the fibers that make up the mycelium in mushrooms. Humans aren't exempt from this effect, but that's kind of to be expected.
Three RCVs are sent in next, and all three manage to set up and start transmitting. Apart from the fact no technical animals exist in Grantsfield, nothing's wrong. After six minutes, however, plasmodium begins growing, jamming up two of the drones. The third begins moving towards the town center, but they lose contact with it. The plasmodium growth doesn't seem to have been an accident, as it focused on the wheels and internal mechanisms. This thing is intelligent, and doesn't like the drones.
They try another drone to investigate the town center, but it gets redirected to the outskirts after a giant spore cloud forms out of nowhere. There's no signs of animal life in the outskirts, and the drone tries to contact the former residents. It's unsuccessful, except in one case where the resident undergoes binary fission and crushes the drone. 4341-As have all the capabilities of non-animal organisms, while still looking like animals. Affected organisms don't seem to realize that they're not normal, and execute non-animal biological functions like normal.
A fifth drone dumps a bunch of nutrients out for the life, and they react as expected. However, one acts not normal and takes over Turret 1, turning it into non-animal life. It's fired upon and neutralized by the other turrets very quickly, but there is something worrying about this. After getting the nutrient boost, the -A went for the turret directly. It had a purpose, taking over the turret. That implies a higher level of awareness than the document seems to say, which in turn implies something very unpleasant. They're actively trying to break out.
The Foundation doesn't like this one bit, and place a organic disintegration bomb within the town and evacuate the site. Despite not being animals, the -A instances are still organic, and thus would be susceptible to the effects of things that target and damage stuff that's organic. Unfortunately, the bomb becomes non-animal life and doesn't detonate. The -A instances knew that the bomb was bad and prevented it from detonating. More evidence for their higher level of awareness, and some evidence that they understand that the Foundation is not on their side.
Addendum 2: List of Containment Proposals
There's a list of proposals for various containment measures beyond just lock it in a dome, and it's telling.
The replacement of HCl bullets with bullets containing capsules of Acid REGALITH/2178, which have been proven effective at bypassing the hydrochloric acid-resistant shells of SCP-4341-A instances. — APPROVED
The implanting of remotely activated Acid REGALITH/2178 capsules in the crania of all personnel at Provisional Site-4341, intended as a failsafe for the possibility of an absence of animal life emerging in the facility. — APPROVED
The first one we knew about, as it's what the turrets fire. The second one isn't surprising, as the risk of Foundation employees becoming non-animal is too great since we have some evidence that the 4341-A instances are actually trying to get out and get back at the Foundation.
Detonation of a neutron bomb above Unit Alpha to create an absence of non-animal life in addition to animal life. — DENIED: Radiation from the detonation would endanger outlying civilians.
As usual, the Foundation isn't up to nuke an anomaly without knowing what might happen, although the mention that it's a neutron bomb implies that it would be able to destroy non-animal life.
The development of a replacement for Acid REGALITH/2178 to bypass shells resistant to the acid. — APPROVED
The 4341-As are getting stronger and more resistant to the acid. Either an evolutionary or deliberate change, neither is good.
The neutralization of the excess biomass within Grantsfield via the flooding of acidic compounds. — UNDECIDED: No acids or alternative means which could achieve this currently exist.
They want to flood the town with acid to destroy everything. The Foundation doesn't have the acid that could do that, but they're still keeping it on the table. That implies that something happened that would require them to consider neutralizing it.
Evacuation of civilians within a 5km radius of Provisional Site-4341. — PENDING VOTE
Detonation of a neutron bomb above Unit Alpha. — PENDING REVOTE
Something definitely happened that made them reconsider. If they're evacuating civilians 5 kilometers away, that means that the area of effect likely moved beyond Grantsfield. The return of the neutron bomb proposal reinforces the evidence that something happened to necessitate neutralization being considered as a possibility, and the next addendum tells us what.
Addendum 3: Incident 4341/A28/UN1
On 12/07/2022, an opening grew on the spore dome surrounding the town center, and Grantsfield mayor Gordie Landon exited from it. Researchers identified Landon as being animal life. Drones rapidly guided Landon to the nearest Unit Alpha entrance, which was then sealed for temporary quarantine.
They found animal life in Grantsfield, and got the mayor to an airlock as soon as possible. Odd, considering the nature of the anomaly, but the researchers don't notice anything.
At this point Head Researcher Ken Innes sent an email with the following text to all Provisional Site-4341 personnel.
Staff is compromised by SCP-4341.Landon is not an animal. Look at its eyes. There's roots strangling the veins, green dots blotting the pupils, gemma eating the irises. How many cilia can you count in those pupils?ENTER INFOQUARANTINE NOW.
Well, um...oh shit.
Panic spread among onsite researchers. Head Researcher Innes triggered site alarms and conflicts over keeping the entrance sealed emerged. Soon after Researcher Marlene Mohren, acting without supervision or approval, sent override commands to unseal the entrance.
On release, Landon's head sloughed off to expose root structures.
That researcher called it: that memetic effect that 4341 gives off, removing your ability to identify animals? The whole site got hit with it, and nobody noticed because everybody had it. And now non-animal life is in the site.
Sector 1 became devoid of animal life, with the spontaneous growth of macroscopic organelles in the sector's walls causing complete structural collapse.
Well, there goes that sector.
Former resident Landon then breached. The entity moved 1.2km towards Site-1281 before it was neutralized by long-range ordinance.
If it wasn't clear before, the -A instances REALLY don't like the Foundation. They're definitely hostile and trying to get back at them for keeping them locked up.
Despite the expected fallout that would occur from the mass release of SCP-4341-A instances, the surrounding environment did not develop animal life absences. Fauna and flora were not affected, and no forms of contamination by spores or toxins was observed.
That's good. The area around Grantsfield didn't transform, which is very reassuring. They weren't part of the Foundation, and thus they didn't care.
However, individuals with connections to the Foundation were contaminated or attacked by SCP-4341-A instances if in areas where the anomalies were present. Outlying towns contained animal life until Foundation personnel arrived. Aside from this, no civilians were harmed.
Just more proof they don't like the Foundation. They didn't want to hurt the civilians, but the Foundation's arrival forced them to.
The neutralization of all breached SCP-4341-A instances is in progress. A media coverup will be maintained until neutralization is complete, at which point the amnesticization of witnesses will begin. Construction of a fortified Class-II Biohazard Quarantine Unit around Sector 1 is underway. As animal life is wholly absent from Sector 1, the area is to be treated as an extension of SCP-4341's region of influence.
Additional V-Model chambers are yet to be constructed. Infoquarantine of all compromised researchers is presently impossible.
To say that things went wrong here would be an understatement, but now we see what they meant by replacment of the town's former population in the containment procedures: they need to put out cover stories for the people outside of Grantsfield that were turned into non-animal life. They're building another quarantine unit, but they can't get the infoquarantine units up while they're doing that, and there's no way to deal with all the compromised researchers right now. Basically, they're screwed for the time being.
Addendum 4: Exploration Log 4341/κ6/1
There's one final exploration log, with one final drone being sent it. We don't know the context for any of this, as it was all redacted, but we are in the town center by the spore sac Landon emerged from.
Drone κ6 reaches the spore dome. Openings on the sides nearest to κ6 widen, all large enough that the drone could easily enter without its rotors becoming jammed from hardened spore substances. The drone lowers and it passes through, entering the town center of Grantsfield.
No, no way it's bait.
All buildings in the town center repeatedly undergo mitosis, frequently enveloping one another. The bodies of former residents protrude from streets and release clouds of spores. Duplicates of former resident Gordie Landon, legs replaced by columns of mycelium, walk over the area while spilling slurries of non-animal colonies from their chests. Dozens of SCP-4341-A instances are stretched in a web-like network that lines the interior of the dome and attaches to several buildings, such as the Grantsfield Courthouse.
This central spore sack is definitely the center of the anomaly. Most of the residents seem to be here, as well as a bunch of non-animal things coming out of the Landon duplicates. A giant web-like network seems like it would be part of the center as well.
One of the Landons embraces Drone κ6. κ6 rapidly develops non-animal organs, macroscopic organelles, and spore sacs that replace much of the machinery, including rotors. The top of the spore dome widens into a tube that connects to the underside of Unit Alpha's roof, which SCP-4341-Aκ6 flies through until contacting said roof. It merges into the roof's metal framework. Contact is lost.
The drone becomes non-animal life, and gets absorbed into the roof. But why?
During this time, personnel outside Provisional Site-4341 report the formation of sheets of photosynthetic structures on the top of Unit Alpha.
That's our answer. They baited the drone in, letting them get a bit of footage that they can't use for anything in return for something that will allow them to built photosynthetic structures on the roof of the unit. But why would they need those?
Answer: they're building up. They need that stuff to create more non-animal life, and they're stockpiling it. The Foundation needs to get rid of them as soon as possible, but 4341 as a whole has timing, forces, and they already have momentum. Eventually, there's gonna be a clash, and only one side is going to walk out of Grantsfield.
But for now, thus ends SCP-4341, a tale of technicalities and a foreboding future. Thank you all for reading, and don't forget about the animals.

[Tutorial] How to upgrade/downgrade to iOS 10.2 using futurerestore (prometheus) (JAILBROKEN METHOD) on MacOS. (Detailed tutorial for newbies).

UPDATED ON 9th of Feb 2017

EDIT: THIS POST IS A LITTLE BIT OUTDATED, I WILL UPDATE IT LATER WHEN I HAVE TIME, FOR THE TIME BEING FOLLOW TIHMSTAR ON TWITTER TO USE THE LATEST ONE.

UNJAILBROKEN METHOD: https://redd.it/5ro66c

I know in the title I said it's for newbies.. but apparently I mis-estimated the difficulty level of this tutorial..to be fair it's fairly complicated and full of spaghetti, specially if you've never done things on terminals before.. or have no idea what any of the terms used mean ><.. so proceed with your own risk.. (edit added on 31st jan 2017).

Hi guys, in this tutorial I will be walking you through the requirements and the steps needed to use Prometheus to easily upgrade to 10.2 when it's no longer signed by Apple. Also, keep in mind that this tutorial is for MacOS users only.
This is particularly useful for people who are willing to hold onto their current jailbroken firmware, until a 10.2 jb is released to the public and confirmed working. It allows you to basically update to 10.2 (in this case at least, when it's no longer signed by apple) I know I sound redundant at this point, but just some clarification for those who haven't been in the scene for a while, only do this if you know what you're doing :D!
I myself am a windows user, but had no dice in getting futurerestore to work on windows, so I installed MacOS on a VM and proceeded from there.
** VM MIGHT NEED SOME DEPENDENCIES FOUND IN : this thread https://redd.it/5lhby9 made by u/li0nic**
As the title says, this method is for jailbroken users only (means you have to be upgrading from a jailbroken OS that has task_for_pid0 enabled. So if you're on 9.1, 9.3.3 (with luca's jbme website) or 10.1.1 (yalu jailbreak mach_portal) you're good to go. Don't know about any other jailbroken firmwares that have taskforpid0 enabled. Also, of course this is going to be for 64 bit devices only (preferably below 7 and 7 plus since updating to 10.2 on them is useless). ** ***IIRC, Pangu 9.0-9.0.2 doesn't enable tfp0, but Pangu 9.1 does Also remember that 9.2-9.3.3 only has tfp0 if you jailbreak with jbme.qwertyoruiop.com after the initial jailbreak. * (EDIT ADDED BY u/Samg_is_a_Ninja , thanks to him)
***BEFORE YOU BEGIN, keep in mind this is a full restore! it won't retain your data! so make sure you back-up your phone through itunes before you do any of the steps below! and restore your backup later!*
Requirements:
YOU HAVE TO BE JAILBROKEN WITH TFP0 ENABLED AS AFOREMENTIONED
1)Shsh2 blobs for 10.2 (you can get them from telegram or by following this reddit thread https://redd.it/5ps4u2 )
2)Futurerestore obviously, you can get it from here: http://api.tihmstar.net/builds/futurerestore/futurerestore-latest.zip
3)Nonceenabler, since we're going to be using the jailbreak method. You can get it from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ghv44y0h4uoko8w/nonceEnabler.zip
4)iOS 10.2.1 IPSW file, you can get it from: https://ipsw.me/ for your particular device.
5)OpenSSH installed on your phone from cydia. DEFAULT PW FOR IT IS alpine
6)iOS 10.2 IPSW file also.
*********7)Baseband file, SEP file, buildmanifest.plist file. TO GET THOSE: Change the name of ios 10.2.1 Ipsw file you downloaded from .ipsw to .zip THEN extract it, Copy the buildmanifest.plist file and put it in some folder you create, then go into Firmware and Copy the .bbfw file from there into the folder you created with buildmanifest.plist, there might be 2 .bbfw files. copy the one with "Mav10-5.32.00.Release.bbfw" in it if you're on: iPad Air 2, iPad Pro (12.9 inch), iPad mini 4, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone SE. OR COPY the one with Mav13-2.41.00.Release.bbfw in it if you're on: iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPad Pro (9.7 inch) and paste the respective file in the folder with the others. *(Check THE BBFW SOURCES BELOW IF I DIDN'T LIST YOUR PHONE, YOU WILL FIND THE CORRECT BBFW UNDER EACH MODEL (the 10.2 or 10.2.1 ones, they're identical anyway), I LINKED IPHONE WIKI, DOUBLE CHECK TO SEE :))**********
Then, go into all_flash then into all_flash.n66map.production (notice you have to go into the folder with your boardid configuration, which you can find on the iphone wiki). in my case I was using a 6s plus TSMC (so n66map). then, copy sep-firmware.n66m.RELEASE.im4p file and paste it in the folder you created earlier with buildmanifest+bbfw files.**
How I got the bbfw file for each device:
MDM9615: iPhone 5s, iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3
  • iOS 10.0.1/10.0.2/10.1(.1): 7.01.00
  • iOS 10.2: 7.21.00
MDM9625: iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE, iPad Air 2, iPad Pro (12.9"), iPad mini 4
  • iOS 10.0.1/10.0.2: 5.24.00
  • iOS 10.1(.1): 5.26.00
  • iOS 10.2: 5.32.00
MDM9635: iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Pro (9.7")
  • iOS 10.0.1/10.0.2: 2.30.00
  • iOS 10.1(.1): 2.36.00
  • iOS 10.2: 2.41.00
MDM9645: iPhone 7
  • iOS 10.0(.1): 1.00.02
  • iOS 10.0.2: 1.00.03
  • iOS 10.0.3: 1.00.05
  • iOS 10.1 1.02.13
  • iOS 10.1.1: 1.02.15
  • iOS 10.2: 1.02.15
MDM9645: iPhone 7 Plus
  • iOS 10.0: 1.00.02
  • iOS 10.0.1: 1.00.03
  • iOS 10.0.2: 1.00.04
  • iOS 10.0.3: 1.00.05
  • iOS 10.1(.1): 1.25.00
  • iOS 10.2: 1.33.00
We should note that Wi-Fi devices such as the iPod Touch 6G and the Wi-Fi iPads do not have a baseband file. Since we have no test devices, we aren't sure how to proceed. You can try omitting the baseband file from the Terminal command at your own risk, but there's no guarantee that would work.
Special thanks to Stoppels for pointing this out and providing the list and source.
Then, put the nonceenabler+futurerestore+the shsh2 file of your device+ iOS 10.2 IPSW file into the same folder. Finally now you would have a folder with the following if you did everything right.
A) buildmanifest.plist
B) the bbfw file.
C)the im4p file (the SEP file).
D) Nonceenabler+ ios 10.2 IPSW file + Futurerestore (unzipped ofc) +the shsh2 file of your device.
I advise renaming that folder to Prometheus Downgrade (or any name of your choice really).

NOW BEFORE YOU PROCEED, Make sure you delete any tweaks that tamper with system plists.. like karen's tweaks "norecoverypls(?) or mikoto" or so.. and turn any daemons you turned off by icleaner back on and turn low power mode off if it's on.

Steps:
First of all you should do this in the jailbroken state of your phone!
1- Open terminal and cd into the folder you created, an example if it's on the desktop, you type in the terminal: cd desktop (hit enter) then cd (foldername). For simplicity we'll call this Terminal (A).
2-Ssh into your device by typing this in your terminal "ssh [email protected]" (your phone's ipadress can be found in settings>wifi> hit the ! mark next to the wifi you're connected to and you will find it) example : ssh [email protected]
then hit enter,
you will be prompted to enter a pw, default pw is alpine if you've never played with ssh before.
now leave that terminal after you've entered the pw, and follow the following
3-open new terminal tab (we'll call it terminal B) and cd into the folder you created. you need to push the nonceEnabler binary into device. To do so type in the same terminal “ scp nonceEnabler [email protected]: “ and enter the password. (take note that at the end of the ipadress theres a colon(:) )
4-switch back to the first tab (terminal A) then you have to set a specific variable, and in order to do that you have to patch the kernel first with nonceEnabler. Do so by executing (typing in terminal) “ ./nonceEnabler “ Enter in the terminal you just switched to (first one).
Now to set a new variable run “ nvram com.apple.System.boot-nonce=generator (the generator is a value you can get from your shsh2 file by making a copy of it, then changing the extension from shsh2 to .plist of the copy then open it up and scroll down, you will see a string underneath the generator with numbers and letters in between > and < an example : http://prntscr.com/dzjxqh so you replace the generator with that value in the command " nvram com.apple.System.boot-nonce=generator "
-if anyone is still having trouble writing generator to nvram "nvram: Error setting variable - 'com.apple.System.boot-nonce': (iokit/common) general error". try running the command from the device via either [[Mterminal]] or any other terminal app. (edit added by syto203) or check https://www.reddit.com/jailbreak/comments/5ladq5/discussion_futurerestore_has_been_updated/dbuasjt/
5- In the same terminal (terminal A), type in "nvram auto-boot=false" this will essentially disable the autoboot (booting up into your ios, so you can proceed with prometheus instead)
(Also there's an optional step: check that auto boot is false by running “ nvram -p and hit enter, you should see a bunch of lines, one of which is auto boot is set to false, if so, you're good to go).
In the same terminal again (terminal A) type in “ reboot “ and enter.
Device now should be in recovery (go ahead and plug it in into your computer if you had not done so already, and close iTunes if it launches)
6- Device should already be in recovery mode (the itunes screen with the cable on your device).
now run: chmod +x futurerestore_macos (in terminal A, and hit enter then proceed to the next step).
now run “ ./futurerestore_macos -t blob.shsh2 -b baseband.bbfw -p BuildManifest.plist -s SEP.im4p -m BuildManifest.plist -w targeted.ipsw “
ofc, in terminal A.
targeted.ipsw = the iOS version you want to RESTORE TO not the one you pulled sep, and other files from.
note that you replace each of those with their names, an example baseband.bbfw will be Mav10-5.32.00.Release.bbfw, and so on for every other parameter.
Full example:
./futurerestore_macos -t 4795253457241214_iPhone8,2_n66map_10.2-14C92.shsh2 -b Mav10-5.32.00.Release.bbfw -p BuildManifest.plist -s sep-firmware.n66m.RELEASE.im4p -m BuildManifest.plist -w iPhone_5.5_10.2_14C92_Restore.ipsw
hit enter and let it restore.. (if your screen turns green during the process, it's a good sign ;)).
if you run into any errors after this step, it's either you have messed something up, or the shsh2 file you used was incorrect.. in any case, to exit the recovery mode; download reiboot and exit it through it... and try again if you desire.
ALSO IT'S important to note that your device reboots every 15 mins in recovery mode, meaning that it will lose the nonce you set it to, the "generator" so you will have to redo the steps.. so it's better to just make sure everything is ok before entering the recovery by "reboot" command, like make sure all the dependencies are installed and everything is running right, then restore.
Since this can be used for any iOS 10 version (and 9, but let's not make it too difficult), any "iOS 10.2" should refer to "targetVersion" (or so) and all "10.2.1"'s should refer to the currently signed version 🤔 Since 10.2.1 might be the final with a compatible SEP, we could just note it beforehand edit We should note beforehand that downgrading from 10.2.1 to 10.2 will keep Touch ID functional, but downgrading to 10.0.x and 10.1.x will result in the loss of this functionality for Touch ID devices.
note: we only needed terminal B once, sorry for confusing y'all :D
EDIT1: I am by no means professional at doing this at all, it took me a lot of attempts and research, also some people helped me to get through the countless errors I had on the VM. So a native mac is your best bet if you're new to this..
Also, I advise waiting until 10.2 is no longer being signed to try this tutorial, since it's pointless to do it now as you can't downgrade to your jailbroken firmware. I used a burner device to try this and touchid worked (thanks to a friend).
If someone wants to add anything, feel free to comment below and I will add it to the tutorial if it's beneficial.. I tried making it concise.. and I am really busy so sorry for the horrible format and the hurried up typing! I apologize! I have finals and stuff wish me luck ;D!
and goodluck everyone ;D
EDIT2: OSX only, I tested on sierra (the latest one).
EDIT3: Since everyone is wondering whether this breaks Touch ID or not, it doesn't folks. The sep file from 10.2.1 is compatible if not identical to that of 10.2, so no issues ensue when upgrading this time with prometheus; unlike the last time where 10.2 sep wasn't identical to that of ios 10.1.1, and hence the touch id issues. Hope this makes it clear. And also more confirmation will emerge when 10.2 stops being signed, I will make sure to let you know if this causes any issues afterwards. As for now you don't have to be worrying about it, specially if you want to update to 10.2, it's still being signed so you can do it through iTunes. If you're torn between waiting for the 10.2 jailbreak then updating through this method but afraid of touch id issues, or hesitant to update now, I'll wait myself on 9.3.3 if that says anything. After all it's your choice.
TL;DR: it doesn't break touch id.
A topic about it:
https://redd.it/5psau6
if you are stuck in recovery mode and want to exit, downlod reiboot from google and exit using it.
Also,
if you encounter any errors check this thread https://redd.it/5lhby9 made by u/li0nic
he included a bunch of other necessities and requirements so yeah!

Free MailFlow Monitor. Rejection / Delay Text Alerts, Group Policies, Alerts By SMTP Code, Trouble Shooting Tools including header analysis. MailFlow Monitor is EveryCloud’s (Our) free, cloud-based, round-trip tool that sends you an alert as soon as there is an issue with your email flow. Settings are adjustable to allow you to choose how much of a delay is acceptable and which types of bounce alerts you want to see. Helps you get to the bottom of a problem before users (or your boss) have even noticed it.

Postman is a popular, free app to make API development faster and easier. It offers a powerful GUI, saved history of requests, flexible monitoring, automated testing with collection runner, mock servers, and unlimited collections, environments, tests, and sharing. It also provides detailed documentation.

Microsoft Sysinternals Suite is all their utilities in one convenient file. Contains the all the individual troubleshooting tools as well as help files, but not non-troubleshooting tools like the BSOD Screen Saver or NotMyFault. A shout out to azers for recommending this one.

RichCopy is a simple tool written by a Microsoft engineer named Derk Benisch. It provides a much-appreciated graphical interface for the very popular Robocopy command-line utility.

Windows Update MiniTool is an alternative to the standard (and sometimes overbearing) Windows Update. It allows you to control updates by giving you the power to search, install, and block Windows updates in any way you like.

Space Monger gives you a graphical image of your whole disk, where large files and folders are easily identified. This handy tool can be run from a USB drive, so you don't even need to install it. Thanks for this one and Windows Update MiniTool go to mikedopp.

UNetbootin is a terrific, cross-platform utility for creating bootable live USB drives for Ubuntu and other Linux distributions without burning a CD. Thanks go to Gianks for this one.

CopyQ is a clipboard manager that adds some advanced editing and scripting capabilities. It monitors the system clipboard and saves text, HTML, images and more into customized tabs. From there, the saved content can be copied and pasted directly into any application. Clipboard history is easily searchable and can be filtered. Suggested by majkinetor.

Desktop Info provides a quick view of every kind of metric about your Windows system right on your desktop. The display looks like wallpaper but stays resident in memory and updates in real time. Gives you a quick way to monitor what any system is up to, while using very little memory and requiring almost nothing from the CPU. This one was recommended by mikedopp.

Healthstone is a lightweight, self-hosted, agent-based system-monitoring solution that runs lots of customizable health checks. The dashboard runs on a Windows or Linux server, and it has agents for the Windows and Linux hosts you want to monitor. You can customize the dashboard to send notifications via email, Pushbullet, or NodePoint tickets whenever a client stops checking in or any of the configured checks fail. Configuration is retrieved from the dashboard by all agents in the form of templates, which are stored in the templates folder and can be customized for your needs. Thanks to mikedopp for this one!

Rufus is another utility for formatting and creating bootable USB flash drives. This one works with MRB/GPT and BIOS/UEFI. Rufus is about twice as fast as UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer, or Windows 7 USB download tool when creating a Windows 7 USB installation drive from an ISO. It is also marginally faster for creating a Linux bootable USB from ISOs. We first heard of this one from Gianks, but there were quite a few others who shared the recommendation as well.

Axence netTools is a set of ten free tools for network scanning and monitoring. Includes: Netwatch (multiple host availability and response-time monitoring); Network port and service scanner; Wintools (view of launched processes/services, remote register editor and Windows event log view, HDD/RAM/CPU details, custom queries based on WMI protocol); TCP/IP workshop and SNMP browser; Traceroute; NetStat (list of inbound and outbound connections and open ports); Local info (tables with local configuration details, TCP/UDP stats); Lookup (DNS and WHOIS records); Bandwidth test; and NetCheck (LAN hardware and wiring quality check). This was recommended by DollarMindy as an "easy ping monitor with email alerts."

MediCat USB is a a bootable troubleshooting environment with Linux and Windows boot environments and troubleshooting tools. A complete Hiren's Boot Disk replacement for modern hardware that follows the Ubuntu release cycle with a new update released every 6 months. The DVD version was originally recommended to us by Spikerman "for when you need to helpdesk warrior."

MobaXterm is an enhanced terminal for remote computing. It brings all the key remote network tools (SSH, X11, RDP, VNC, FTP, MOSH) and Unix commands (bash, ls, cat, sed, grep, awk, rsync) to Windows desktop in a single, portable .exe file that works out of the box. The free version includes full X server and SSH support, remote desktop (RDP, VNC, Xdmcp), remote terminal (SSH, telnet, rlogin, Mosh), X11-Forwarding, automatic SFTP browser, plugins support, portable and installer versions but only 12 sessions, 2 SSH tunnels, 4 macros, and 360 seconds for Tftp/Nfs/Cron. Thanks go out to lazylion_ca for suggesting this one.

WinDirStat provides free, open-source graphical disk-usage analysis for MS Windows. You'll get a sub-tree view with disk-use percent and a list of file extensions ordered by usage. This tool was recommended by ohyeahwell, who likes to use it "for freespace as it can be deployed via ninite pro."

IIS Crypto allows administrators to enable or disable protocols, ciphers, hashes and key exchange algorithms on Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2016. You can also reorder SSL/TLS cipher suites from IIS, implement best practices with a single click, create custom templates and test your website. Available in both command line and GUI versions. EOTFOFFTW tells us, “This tool has been very helpful in configuring SSL settings for Windows IIS servers.”

Ditto saves all your clipboard items so you can access them later. It works with anything that can be put on the clipboard—images, text, html and custom formats. The simple interface includes search and sync functions for ease of finding what you need. Thanks go to Arkiteck for suggesting this one!

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware should be your first stop if you suspect a malware infection. It is the most-effective malware remover—featuring deep scans and daily updates—and blocks malware, hacker, viruses, ransomware and malicious websites that slip through your traditional antivirus. Also available as a full AV program that you can buy if you wish to do so.

This cross-platform Telnet, Mosh-compatible and SSH client. Securely access Linux or IoT devices to quickly fix issues from your laptop or phone. Thanks for this one go to blendelabor.

WSUS Offline Update lets you safely patch any computer running Microsoft Windows and Office—even when there's no connection to the Internet or a network of any sort. More specifically, you first run WSUS Offline Update on a machine that has Internet connectivity to download the updates you need and copy the resulting update media to a USB drive. You then use the USB drive to run the update on the target computers. Recommended by mikedopp.

SystemRescueCd is a Linux system rescue disk that allows you to administer or repair your system and data after a crash. It can be booted via CD/DVD, USB or installed directly on the hard disk. Many system utilities like GParted, fsarchiver, filesystem tools and basic tools (editors, midnight commander, network tools) are included, and it works on Linux and Windows computers, desktops and servers. Supports ext3/ext4, xfs, btrfs, reiserfs, jfs, vfat, ntfs—as well as network filesystems such as Samba and NFS.

KiTTY is a fork of PuTTY, the popular Telnet and SSH client. It runs on Windows and can perform all the tasks of PuTTY plus many more. Features include portability, predefined command shortcuts, sessions filter, session launcher, automatic log-on script, URL hyperlinks, automatic command and password, running locally saved scripts in remote sessions, ZModem integration, icons for each session, transparency, unfortunate keyboard input protection, roll-up, quick start of duplicate sessions, configuration box, automatic saving, Internet Explorer integration for SSH Handler, binary compression, clipboard printing, PuTTYCyg patch, background images/transparency and organizing sessions you save in a folder hierarchy.

WinMTR is a free, open-source Windows application that integrates the functions of the traceroute and ping utilities into a single, convenient network diagnostic tool. Many thanks to generalmx for suggesting both this and SystemRescueCd!

Free Services

SSL Labs SSL Server Test is a free online service that will run a deep analysis on the configuration for any SSL web server. Simply enter the hostname, and you'll get a detailed report highlighting any problems found on each server.

Draw.io is a free, browser-based diagramming application that's terrific for creating flowcharts and org charts. It's available as an online application with optional integration to various cloud storage options.

It allows you to see how events correlate using insertion strings and review the associated audit instructions. This was recommended by _deftoner_ as an “online DB where you can search for Windows Event Log by id, os, error code, etc. I do a lot of auditing on a big network thru event log ids, and sometimes I found rare errors—and there is not a good db with all of them. A great resource for anyone responsible for running systems built on UNIX or Linux.

Taming Information Technology: Lessons from Studies of System Administrators (Human Technology Interaction Series)was suggested by AngryMountainBiker, who describes it as "essentially an ethnographic study of system administrators. The authors videotaped and otherwise documented SA's over a period of time and were able to break down a number of fascinating incidents and how to improve the art. P.S. Some Extra Free Tools We Put In The Email Version

Clonezilla is free, open-source software for disk cloning, disk imaging, data recovery, and deployment—helping with system deployment, bare metal backup, and recovery. Cloning efficiency is optimized by the program's approach of saving/restoring only used blocks in the hard disk.

SPF Record Testing Tools is a query tool designed to help you deploy SPF records for your domain. It validates if an SPF record exists and whether it is formatted correctly and entered into your DNS as a proper TXT record.

PS Remote Registry module contains functions to create, modify, or delete registry subkeys and values on local or remote computers. This one was recommended to us by IhaveGin.

PowerCopy GUI was recommended by Elementix, who described it as "similar to RichCopy, but it uses .Net, PowerShell, and Robocopy. A good (non-install) alternative." The tool allows you to set up predefined options, one-click access to help and log file, and instant error analysis.

Gitbash is a package containing bash and a collection of other, separate *nix utilities like ssh, scp, cat, find and others—compiled for Windows—and a new command-line interface terminal window called mintty. Recommended by sysacc who tells us he's been "dealing with log files lately and I've been using...Gitbash a LOT... It's part of the Git tools, I love having access to Linux commands on Windows."

Easy2Boot is a collection of grub4dos scripts to be copied onto a grub4dos-bootable USB drive. Each time you boot, the E2B scripts automatically find all the payload files (.ISO, .IMA, .BIN, .IMG, etc.) on the USB drive and dynamically generate the menus. Thanks to Phx86 who says it "creates a very versatile USB drive. It checks a lot of marks other various tools did not. Formats NTFS, your ISO boot disks doubles as standard NTFS storage. Drag and drop .ISO files to the correct folder, then boot directly to them. Boot menu reads the .ISO files and builds a menu based on what is loaded on the drive. No fiddling around with custom boot menus when you add a new .ISO."

CCleaner is the fastest way to eliminate temporary files and Windows Registry problems. Our own Matt Frye says, "When a machine is having problems, this is almost always the tool I use first. It also helps to ensure privacy by getting rid of traces left behind (such as cookies) by web browsers."

Netwrix Auditor Free Community Edition is a great auditing/monitoring tool for the Windows sysadmin. It lets you see changes and access events in your hybrid cloud IT environment, so you can stop worrying you'll miss critical changes to AD objects, file server permissions, Windows Server configuration or other security incidents.

WinSCP is an SFTP client and FTP client for Windows with a GUI, integrated text editor, scripting and task automation. It allows you to copy files between a local computer and remote servers via FTP, FTPS, SCP, SFTP, WebDAV or S3 file transfer protocols.
